Briar Village Neighborhood

The West Side of Houston is a rapidly-growing area. Briar Village is a large neighborhood located in this fantastic community, which also includes the Energy Corridor and a variety of high-rise buildings, luxury hotels, and upscale shops and restaurants. Briar Village is located along Briar Forest Drive, just south of Terry Hershey Park and Lakeside Country Club.

The Galleria is a high-end shopping and office venue that even has an indoor ice rink. Tanglewood/Broadoaks, west of the Galleria, used to be home to former president George H.W. Bush. The older homes have been replaced by new Colonial, Georgian, and contemporary homes. The Villages/Memorial is located near West Memorial and the Interstate 10/Katy Freeway. The term “villages” refers to the residential communities of Bunker Hill, Hedwig, Hunter’s Creek, and Piney Point.

The Energy Corridor District is home to several international energy companies, and also offers fine dining, hotels, and shopping. Just 18 miles west of downtown, this neighborhood is on the east side of George Bush Park, the sixth-largest city park in the country. George Bush Park features 7,800 acres of open green space along the Buffalo Bayou. It contains jogging and biking trails along the bayou, picnic pavilions, playgrounds, a soccer field, and a shooting range. It is also home to the Millie Bush Bark Park, a large off-leash dog park. This double-gated park features three ponds, two for large dogs and one for small dogs, wash stations, and plenty of open play space.
