Tucked between Downtown Houston and the Museum District, the aptly-named Midtown is a dynamic neighborhood filled with shops, restaurants, trendy lofts, and sleek apartment buildings. Many students choose to rent apartments in Midtown because this neighborhood is close to the University of Houston, Rice University, and Texas Southern University. It is also close to the Texas Medical Center.

With terrific views of the downtown skyline, you can’t go wrong with a Midtown apartment. The nearby Museum District provides art galleries, the Houston Museum of Natural Science, the Children’s Museum of Houston, Hermann Park, the Houston Zoo, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston – all just down the street from Midtown. But you won’t have to leave the neighborhood to find plenty of entertainment – Midtown is known for its nightclubs, shopping, and restaurants. Be sure to check out Wooster’s Garden, 13 Celsius, Mai’s, and Double Trouble – just for starters.

Midtown is very pedestrian-friendly, and it offers several light rail metro stations throughout the neighborhood. Take the Red Line through the Museum District to NRG Stadium and catch a Houston Texans football game. Or, take it north into Downtown Houston and enjoy the Downtown Aquarium, the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts, Wortham Theater Center, and Sam Houston Park.

From your new apartment in Midtown, you’ll have access to terrific Houston parks. Bagby Park offers a dog park, a stage, picnic areas, bocce, and a must-see water-and-fog feature. Midtown Park is a mixed-use area that combines green space with apartment buildings, restaurants, and shops. This park also has an interactive water feature, a playground, an art walk, gardens, and a dog run.
