Spring Valley Neighborhood

Incorporated in 1955, the city of Spring Valley, officially titled Spring Valley Village, is one of six Memorial Villages in the Houston area. Located in the 77055 zip code area in Harris County, Spring Valley is just ten miles from downtown Houston. The city covers roughly 1.3 square miles and had more than 3,600 residents after the 2000 census.

Despite being surrounded by the hustle and bustle of Houston, Spring Valley retains a small-town feel. If building friendships with your neighbors is important to you, this walkable, picturesque community may be the right fit for you and your family. Neighboring communities are the Memorial Villages of Hilshire Village and Hedwig Village, located to the east and to the southwest, respectively.

The neighborhood’s City Hall Park is a great place for residents to host events, with a lovely gazebo and pavilion. The Robert A. Vines Environmental Science Center–boasting a five-acre arboretum, exotic animals hall, a pond, and gardens–is also located in Spring Valley.

When residents are ready to venture out of this close-knit community, the Houston area offers plenty of activities, restaurants, and shopping opportunities for the whole family. Located off of I-10/Katy Freeway, Spring Valley is close to several shopping centers, including the Galleria (one of the most impressive retail centers in the country), Memorial City Shopping Center, and Northwest Shopping Center.

Golfers can head to the other side of I-10 and enjoy the greens at the Houston Country Club, Lakeside Country Club, River Oaks Country Club, or Memorial Park Golf Course.

The city of Spring Valley Village falls within the Spring Branch Independent School District. Bear Boulevard School in Houston serves preschool and kindergarten students in the community. Spring Valley students generally attend Valley Oaks Elementary (in Houston), Spring Branch Middle School (in Hedwig Village) and Memorial High School (in Hedwig Village). The closest public library (Spring Branch Memorial Library) is also in nearby Hedwig Village.
