Willow Meadows-Willowbend Neighborhood

The Willow Meadows and Willowbend neighborhoods of Houston, Texas are nestled closely together in the southwest portion of the 610 Loop/Beltway 8 corridor. The Willowbend subdivision is located entirely outside of the loop, while Willow Meadows partially crosses into the inside of the loop. Both neighborhoods are popular residential areas in Houston and are most famous for their proximity to Meyer Park.

The Willow Meadows subdivision borders Brays Bayou and is located next to Meyer Park, a popular community park for birthday parties and children’s sporting events. The neighborhood’s homes, built in the 1970s and 80s, rest on tree-lined streets. Residents are primarily upper-middle class professionals, including physicians and educators, who enjoy a reasonable commute to Downtown Houston, the Galleria, and the Medical Center.

The Willowbend subdivision is a quiet neighborhood with middle class residents attracted to the location and accessibility of the 610 Loop over home style. The homes in Willowbend are comfortable and well maintained. The Willow Creek Bayou runs through the neighborhood, emptying into Brays Bayou. A large field separates the south and eastern portions of the neighborhood from a network of rail lines. This field is unique and loved by children and residents alike for its abundance of horses, cows, rabbits, turtles, snakes, natural ponds, and other wildlife. Willow Park, located adjacent to Willowbend, features a playground, sports fields, tennis courts, picnic areas, volleyball court, and a parking lot.

Both of these neighborhoods are ideal for professionals looking for the suburban lifestyle and a convenient commute to work. They are great neighborhoods to raise families, and offer easy access to Houston’s major roads. The parks and surrounding area are beloved by children, and many other residents in Houston flock to the Willow Meadows and Willowbend to take advantage of Meyer Park and to view the abundant wildlife.
