Kemp, TX Houses for Rent

Kemp may be tiny, but it isn’t boring. Kemp is a small city – population 1,154 – but its great location makes Kemp a hidden Texas gem. Kemp is roughly 40 miles southeast of Dallas on the north end of Cedar Creek Lake, a popular recreation area for the region.

With a motto like “Easy Livin’,” you know things are going to just a little bit quieter here. Rent a Kemp apartment and be ready to enjoy this beautiful lakeside community – and when you want the bright lights of the big city, Dallas is less than an hour away.

Cedar Creek Lake is the fourth largest lake in the state. It features more than 320 miles of shoreline, this is a popular tourist destination and many Dallas-Fort Worth residents head down to the lake on weekends to enjoy boating, fishing, and camping.

The first post office was established in Kemp in 1851. The town was named for the postmaster’s mother, Sara Kemp. The community was incorporated in 1922 and is located in Kaufman County.
