Royal Oaks Neighborhood

Not to be confused with Royal Oaks Gardens, a neighborhood near central Bryan, Texas, Royal Oaks is a small community on the far east side of the city, about 25 minutes from the downtown area. This tiny development is bounded by Grassbur Road on the west and Cobb Road on the south. It is mostly undeveloped wooded land, but a few single-family homes can be found among the trees. The zip code for this Brazos County community is 77808.

This side of Bryan is mostly undeveloped land, farmland, and some quiet residential communities, including nearby Birch Creek Estates and Rustic Oaks. However, residents of Royal Oaks are only a short drive from many city conveniences, including those in Bryan and nearby College Station.

Residents of this community travel several miles west for their shopping, dining, and entertainment, which can be found in downtown Bryan and along the major highways that traverse the city. Several shopping centers exist here, including Townshire Shopping Center and Bryan Square. Bryan also hosts several medical centers and sports stadiums, such as St. Joseph Regional Health Center and Bronco Stadium. The Briarcrest County Club is also situated in this area, offering a championship 18-hole course, swimming pool, tennis courts, and fitness facilities. For outdoor recreation, the city offers a number of popular public parks that provide many of the expected amenities and facilities.

Of course, Royal Oaks residents are also roughly an equal distance from downtown College Station, another lively city that offers plenty more to see and do. One of the main attractions here is Texas A&M University. Situated adjacent to the Easterwood Airport, this large university is the oldest of its kind in the state, enrolling roughly 47,000 undergraduate and graduate students each year and offering more than 250 programs of study.
