Stone Oak Neighborhood

Stone Oak is a neighborhood in San Antonio, Texas. It is a planned community that was conceived in the 1980s as a neighborhood where everything the residents could possibly want would be located within the community. It is very much the same today. The boundaries of the neighborhood are Charles W. Anderson Loop on the south, Route 281 on the east, Blanco Road on the west, and the Overlook neighborhood on the north.

Stone Oak Park is a large park that has some great trails and also has two caves that can’t be entered, but can be enjoyed.

There are two hospitals within the boundaries of this neighborhood. North Central Baptist Hospital is a full service medical center with both adult and pediatric departments and emergency care. They are recognized for the quality of their maternity and cardiac departments. Methodist Stone Oak is a high tech facility that has a first class acute care facility.

The Club at Sonterra Golf Course offers members a variety of amenities. There are two 18 hole golf courses, tennis, a fitness club, and tennis courts. Dining is a big draw for members and guests. For shopping and entertainment, the Village at Stone Oak is a shopping center located in the neighborhood. There are a variety of traditional shops, as well as a Super Target. Restaurants and a cinema make this a destination for the entire family.

Stone Oak is recognized for the quality of its schools. There are four elementary schools, a middle and a high school. Stone Oak Youth Theatre offers classes in a variety of the arts to children and youth. Children ages 4-17 can learn and perform at the theatre.

Stone Oak is one of the most popular residential neighborhoods in San Antonio. It truly does offer residents everything they need within a very short distance.
