Dominion Neighborhood

Dominion is one of the most upscale neighborhoods in San Antonio, Texas. A gated community, Dominion is home to notable residents, including popular country singer George Strait, former NBA player David Robinson, and professional wrestler Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Sitting to the northwest of the urban center of San Antonio, Dominion neighbors the Camp Bullis Military Reservation facility which acts as a training facility for Army, Air Force, and Marine units involved in maneuvering and combat missions.

Dominion is bordered by Interstate Highway 10 to the west allowing residents access to the city. Aue Road branches off to create the northern border and intersects with Vera Cruz Road, its eastern border, which separates Dominion from Camp Bullis. The neighborhood’s southern border is Camp Bullis Road, placing it in the 78257 zip code.

The Texas Military Institute-The Episcopal School of Texas sits to the south of Dominion. This private school admits students from sixth through twelfth grade and focuses on college preparation and has a rigorous academic program.

Further to the south, at the intersection of Interstate Highway 10 and Loop 1604, residents and visitors can visit Six Flags-Fiesta Texas, a theme park packed with roller coasters, a water park, and musical performances. Next door, The Shops at La Cantera is a shopping center featuring upscale boutiques and fine dining establishments in a unique outdoor setting.

Across from Interstate Highway 10, another commercially developed center is home to an IMAX movie theater, Target, Best Buy, Maggiano’s Little Italy, and several other shops and restaurants. There is also a handful of hotels to choose from for out-of-town guests, including The Westin Resort, Residence Inn, Motel 6, and the Drury Inn and Suites.
