Grogans Mill Neighborhood

Grogan’s Mill, founded in 1974, is the oldest of the Woodlands villages. Located at the front of the Woodlands community, the village borders the Woodlands Town Center. It is just off of Interstate 45 and is an easy 35-mile commute south to Houston. Grogan’s Mill, part of the the Woodlands’ historic district, contains approximately 5,100 homes nestled into the village’s tree-lined cul-de-sac.

Two K-4 elementary schools, Hailey and Lamar, are located in Grogan’s Mill. Wilkerson Intermediate School accommodates grades 5 and 6, while Knox Junior High School accommodates 7th and 8th grade students. The schools in Grogan’s Mill, as with all of the schools in the Woodlands, are part of the Conroe Independent School District.

Walkers and runners can enjoy the beautiful scenery of Millbend Loop. There are two golf courses in Grogans Mill. The first is the Oaks, a daily fee course. The second is the Tournament Course, which is part of the Woodlands Country Club. The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center houses the “Forest Oasis Waterscape,” a regional attraction known for its double helix water slide. The Blue Water Cafe separates the adult and children’s swimming areas.

Tamarac Park and Sawmill Park are the large parks in Grogan’s Mill. Sawmill Park even has a public swimming pool. The village has convenient shopping at the Grogan’s Mill Village Center bordering Lake Harrison. The shopping center houses a Randall’s grocery store, Chef Chan’s Chinese Restaurant, Beck’s Prime, and Fudrucker’s, a Texas hamburger institution. Many other shops and neighborhood services can be found at the Village Center.
