Westview Neighborhood

The urban population of the Westview neighborhood located in Texas City, Texas, is conveniently established a few miles south of Moses Lake and Dollar Bay, two large bodies of water connecting to Galveston Bay, which leads out to the Gulf of Mexico. Bolivar Peninsula and Galveston Island act as land barriers between the east coast of Texas’s mainland and the open ocean. Texas City is a shipping port in Galveston Bay.

The Westview community is strongly influenced by its location near lakes, bays, and the Gulf. Popular pastimes include relaxing on beaches, cruising in boats, and fishing for fresh and salt water species. The mild climate of the area encourages outdoor recreation throughout most of the year. Numerous parks are within walking or biking distance of the Westwood neighborhood. They accommodate visitors with picnic areas, playgrounds, and ball fields.

Residents of the Westview neighborhood will be enchanted by the Bayou Golf Club, established on the southwest boundary of Moses Lake, and the Lakeview Country Club, located a short distance south of Texas City along Interstate 45. Both facilities are well maintained. They provide visitors with challenging greens and beautiful scenery.

Sport enthusiasts interested in disc golf, a sport that combines Frisbee tossing and golfing, are sure to enjoy the playing field at Jack Brooks Park. The park is also well-known for its mountain bike trails. It is located approximately ten miles from the neighborhood of Westview.

Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge is situated along the coast of the East Bay of the Bolivar Peninsula. Westview residents can get there by taking a boat across Galveston Bay. The refuge provides visitors the opportunity to observe a vast array of animal and plant species. A few of the recreational activities available at the refuge include fishing, hiking, and hunting.
