Carlton Woods Neighborhood

Carlton Woods is technically part of The Woodlands, a master-planned community just north of Spring, Texas, less than one hour north of downtown Houston. This neighborhood is situated about five miles west of Interstate 45, a few miles south of Woodlands Parkway, and just east of Kuykendahl Road. It is part of Montgomery County in the 77382 zip code area.

Carlton Woods is considered a luxury home community, made up of a wide range of homes in different styles and price ranges. Probably the most prominent architectural influence seen throughout is Mediterranean. A private, gated, 18-hole Jack Nicklaus signature golf course is located near the center of the community, creating a country club sort of lifestyle. Members also share access to a resort-style swimming pool and spa, 7,000-square-foot fitness center, tennis court, and dining options. Walking paths and biking trails also traverse the community, making it rather pedestrian-friendly.

Many top-ranked schools exist in the area, and Carlton Woods is zoned for McCullough Junior High School and Coulson Tough Elementary. The Woodlands offers a separate ninth-grade campus and high school for older students living in this community. Among the many highly acclaimed private schools in the area is John Cooper School.

The Woodlands is known for its shopping, dining, and entertainment options, and this community is just a short drive from them all. Several retail centers are situated a few miles north, including Sterling Ridge Village Center and Panther Creek Village Square. Additional shopping and dining options can be found in nearby Old Towne Spring, a walkable historic area that hosts 150 unique specialty shops, boutiques, and galleries. Several restaurants can also be found here, and fair-style food is served out of various street stands.

A handful of major medical centers are located within 10 minutes to the east, along I-45. These include St. Lukes and Memorial Hermann.
