East Shore Neighborhood
Texans looking for the safety of the suburbs and the convenience of the big city should look no further than the city of Spring. Located approximately 35 minutes north of Houston (up to 50 minutes depending on traffic), this suburb includes many top-notch subdivisions. One such community is East Shore, located in the 77380 zip code area of Montgomery County.
East Shore residents are less than five miles from I-45, a direct route to Houston. While the big city offers plenty for East Shore residents to see and do, there’s plenty of good old-fashioned fun in their own backyard. Old Town Spring–located just a few miles away from East Shore on 315 Gentry Street–offers plenty of good food and unique shopping experiences. From a vintage bridal shop to a store that sells authentic German nutcrackers, Old Town Spring offers something for everyone and practically oozes historic charm. For those who enjoy antiquing, the Spring Antique Mall is just off I-45.
Splashtown, the area’s largest water park, is also nearby, near the intersection of Spring Cypress Road and I-45. This family fun spot is the perfect destination to beat the Texas heat, offering several water slides and a wave pool. Splashtown also offers a lazy river and plenty of dining options. Another option for some fun in the sun is Bayer Park, located to the south between Cypresswood Drive and West Hardy Road.
The East Shore area also offers plenty of good food, with authentic Mexican and Tex-Mex establishments among the biggest draws. If “south of the border” dishes are a little too spicy for your pallet, the Houston area also offers plenty of steakhouses, seafood, Italian, and Asian cuisine, and there’s no shortage of fast-food restaurants.
Schools in the area include McNabb Elementary School at 743 East Cypresswood Drive and Spring High School at 19428 Interstate 45.
