Residents also have easy access to the Southeast Park located just outside its southern border.

There are also two very near preschools for the younger students including the Noah’s Ark Pre-school along South Main Street and Children’s Nest Pre-school located just outside Grissom – Highland’s northwestern border. With college students’ proximity to Virginia Tech and Radford University, the Blacksburg area is also acknowledged as a top location for developing high tech industries.
