The Piedmont Flour Mill is a part of downtown Lynchburg’s rich history which once supplied flour to soldiers during the Civil War. The building has been renovated into 55 beautiful, luxury apartment units and lofts. Each unit at Piedmont Mill Lofts is exceptionally unique, a one-of-a-kind. Each individual unit holds its own bit of history ranging from original wood floors, to wooden beams, brick, and old cast iron wheels and pulleys that once ran the mill’s machinery. There are even pieces of old equipment such as a flour shifter adorning the hallways. Tenants have views from their units of the mountains, walking trails, and the James River through the original wood encasement windows. Some units also have doors opening up to a Juliet balcony. While embracing the historical architecture, tenants still have the luxury of new appliances, including a washer/dryer. In addition to the monthly rent, tenants will be expected to pay for a utility package that includes water, sewer, trash, basic cable TV, and high speed internet. This is an additional $110 per month for 1 bedroom units or $150 per month for 2 bedroom units. We are a pet-friendly building and accept most pets less than 75 pounds, and only require a one-time, non-refundable fee of $250, per pet. If you wish to purchase a parking spot in our parking lot next door, it would be an additional $50 per month, per parking space, and would be paid along with your rent. If the parking lot has no vacancies, you may request to be added to the waitlist for when a spot becomes available. Anyone who does not have a parking permit may park for free on the side of the building off of Horseford Rd., on a first come, first serve basis. There are also 2HR limit parking spots off of Jefferson St. in front of the building, as well as a parking lot across from the restaurant next door, about a block away.
