Montreux Neighborhood

Montreux is an area of Issaquah, Washington, located in the west of the city. Near Interstate 90 and Lake Sammamish, Montreux is on the north slope of Cougar Mountain in the Cascade Mountain foothills. The neighborhood was platted in the 1990s. Single-family and multi-family homes are both found here. Development in the area was finished in 2000.

Students attend Issaquah Public School, and Issaquah High School, which is located at the base of Tiger Mountain. Lake Sammamish State Park is nearby, with its two public swimming beaches, boat launch, soccer fields, and baseball fields. The Hans Jensen Youth Camp takes place here in the summer. The Newcastle Golf Course is nearby, as well as some other golf courses and parks. The neighborhood is bike- and pedestrian-friendly, with quiet streets for strolling or jogging.

Issaquah is built along Interstate 90, providing easy access to Seattle across a floating bridge. The bridge was constructed in 1940, speeding traffic and development in this area. Due to its proximity to the Cascade Mountains, many travelers shop in Issaquah before beginning their ascent over Snoqualmie Pass. Gilman Village is a popular shopping destination, with 40 shops clustered in historic buildings located in downtown Issaquah.

Commuters from Montreux speed along I 90 to Seattle, or to Bellevue and other eastside cities for work. The area is served by Metro Transit buses as well. SeaTac airport is a half hour away along Interstate 405.
