Pierce County, Washington

From the boats dotting Puget Sound to the snow-capped Cascade Mountain range, Pierce County contains some of Washington’s most stunning and iconic features, including Mount Rainier. Mount Rainier is the tallest mountain in the Cascades. It is also an impressive volcano, which last erupted in 1894.

Pierce County was formed in 1852. The largest city and the county seat is Tacoma, a beautiful port city on Puget Sound. A city filled with art and culture, it is home to the University of Washington-Tacoma, the Tacoma Art Museum, Washington State History Museum, and the beautiful Museum of Glass. The eye-popping Bridge of Glass is a work of art, containing a menagerie of sparkling color and inspired shapes.

Surrounded by rugged beauty, Pierce County contains stunning parks and nature areas. Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest is located along the Cascade Mountains and meanders toward Mount Rainier National Park. The forest contains several glaciers, more than any National Forest outside of Alaska.

From breathtaking coastline to soaring mountain peaks, Pierce County is an amazing place to live. Rent your apartment in Pierce County and enjoy the rugged beauty of this dynamic area.
