Arbor Heights Neighborhood

Off the banks of Puget Sound between the Boeing Field-King County International Airport and the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport is Arbor Heights, a mid-sized Seattle, Washington neighborhood. Located in the 98146 zip code, Arbor Heights extends north from the coastal area along Marine View Drive Southwest to Southwest Roxbury Street. 30th Avenue Southwest is its eastern border.

A mostly residential neighborhood, Arbor Heights is less than twenty minutes from downtown Seattle and its famous landmark, the Space Needle. The King County Metro Transit buses run on several of the Arbor Heights streets connecting the neighborhood to city parks, the airports, and Seattle Community College.

Throughout Arbor Heights, there is a mix of residential structures, schools, churches, and businesses. The city’s Seola Park is a small park on the neighborhood’s southern edge. The park combines green spaces and wooded areas, minutes from the rocky beach areas to its west. Adjacent to Seola Park is the Arbor Heights Swim and Tennis Club. Established in 1962, the club sponsors competitive teams for swimming, diving, and water polo.

Fauntleroy and Roxhill Parks sit at the northern border of Arbor Heights. Fauntleroy Park is a 32-acre wooded park with multiple hiking trails and green space for kite flying and games. The Roxhill Park, established in 1955, is home to multiple picnic sites, ball fields, a soccer field, and a large children’s playground.

The Westwood Village Shopping Center is across the street from Roxhill Park. This shopping complex has national retail stores, local shops, dining options, and a State Driver’s License facility. About three blocks west of the shopping area is the Southwest Branch of the Seattle Public Library. This library branch contains multi-media materials, thousands of books, and thirty-two public-use computers.
