High Point Neighborhood

The Seattle, Washington neighborhood of High Point is just blocks from the banks of the Puget Sound. High Point is located in King County’s 98126 zip code, minutes from numerous outdoor recreational areas. 35th Avenue Southwest is its western border, while Dellridge Way Southwest runs along its east side.

Surrounded by city parks, High Point’s northern border is the 68-acre Camp Long. Camp Long offers visitors a chance to escape city life and enjoy a nature retreat through hiking, rock climbing, and camping. Its nature center sponsors programs for all ages throughout the year. Adjacent to Camp Long is the West Seattle Stadium. Located at the recreational area’s north side, the stadium has both a football field and running track. Next to the stadium complex is the West Seattle city public golf course.

Seattle has more than 400 city parks. Several are within minutes of High Point, including the Orchard Street Ravine, Fairmount Park, the E.C. Hughes Playground, the Riverview Playfield, and the larger Puget Park located next to Seattle Community College. Puget Park, with more than 150 acres is a scenic oasis with trails for hiking and wildlife viewing. Visitors may see the bald eagle, fox, and the red-legged frog when exploring. The park is part of the city’s West Duwamish Greenbelt, the largest in Seattle.

Within High Point is the playground area of High Point Playfield, located on the southern edge of the neighborhood. On the western edge, residents can make use of the High Point Public Library, one of Seattle’s 27 library branches. The High Point Branch opened in 2004. It offers thousands of books, multimedia sources, and 17 public-use computers.

High Point is mostly residential, but it is also home to local businesses, national retailers, schools, and a division of the Seattle Police Department. King County Metro Transit serves throughout the neighborhood.
