The Downtown neighborhood of Syracuse, New York, is the ultimate in convenience of location. It is only close to shopping and a short drive away from all parts of the city with major thoroughfares rimming the area. Students who attend the University of Syracuse clamor for rental properties in this area because they can actually walk to class when the weather is suitable. Medical facilities are located right on the edge of the Downtown neighborhood at Upstate University Medical Hospital.

There is an arena in this venue that serves as the location for sports events, such as basketball and a wide array of musical performances. It also features a 2100-seat theatre, a black box theatre, and a smaller theatre that seats less than 500.
Other noteworthy venues in this neighborhood include the Erie Canal Museum and the Museum of Science and Technology. Food outlets surround the neighborhood, and there are various parks only a short distance away. With all that it has to offer, the Downtown neighborhood is the best places to live in the city of Syracuse.
