Strawberry Farms Neighborhood
Located in the northeast section of Columbus, Ohio, is the neighborhood known as Strawberry Farms. With mature trees, well-kept lawns, and the community park, the neighborhood offers its residents lots of green space. Development began in the 1980s and the area has grown to over 1,200 homes, including single-family homes, condominiums, and apartments. Strawberry Farms has easy access to State Route 161, where the main entrance is located, and Interstate 270 on the southwest side. Homes in the area are marketed towards middle to upper middle income families.
The public schools in the neighborhood are part of Westerville City Schools. The schools include Hawthorne Elementary, Heritage Middle School, and North High School.
Strawberry Farms has an active neighborhood association. The Strawberry Farms Civic Association encourages residents to participate in civic activities, to work to preserve and improve the value of their own property, and to help maintain the park. The association is active in promoting safety in the neighborhood with the formation of the Block Watch program and encouraging communication among the residents.
Strawberry Farms Park, located at 3591 Watt Road, offers residents a place to meet together for a picnic, to enjoy a family outing, or to relax and watch their children at play. The park amenities include a parking lot, covered picnic area, outdoor play area, and trails for walking and/or running. The park also has a woods and wildlife section, bordered on the west side by Alum Creek.
For shopping convenience, Easton Town Center is located approximately two miles south of the neighborhood.
