Columbia College Drive borders historic Columbia College which is a private liberal arts women’s college associated with the United Methodist Church. Also in the neighborhood is historic Lutheran Theological Seminary. Established in 1830, Lutheran Theological Seminary prepares men and women for ordination and other pastoral work. The seminary was built on 17 acres and sit atop Seminary Ridge, the highest point in the South Carolina midlands region.

The William L. Bonner Bible College is located on Hyatt Street just a few blocks from Columbia College Drive. Bonner Bible College was established in 1995 and offers religious and ministry studies. They offer both degrees and certificates. The college caters to a diverse multicultural student body.

Other landmarks include Crescent Hill Cemetery, Palmetto Cemetery and Leevy Cemetery. Palmetto Health Richland Memorial Hospital and Healthsouth Rehabilitation Hospital are just a short drive away on highway 277. Nearby shopping centers include Northway Plaza Shopping Center and Midland Shopping Center. The Richland County Magistrate Court is also close by on North Main Street.

Two local parks are close to the Columbia College Drive area. Eau Claire Park features the historic Eau Claire Printing Building which has been refurbished for community gatherings. Earlwood park offers a playground and picnic area.

Nearby schools include Hyatt Park Elementary, Arden Elementary and Clara Muhammad School. Hyatt Park Elementary School is located on Main Street, Arden Elementary is on Ashley Street. Clara Mohammad School is a small private school which offers a Pre K to 8 grade program. It is located on Monticello Road and currently has 22 students enrolled.
