Oak Hill is a large neighborhood area set in southwest Austin, near the outskirts of Travis County. The neighborhood divides into two subsections, East Oak Hill and West Oak Hill lying. Surrounded by heavy trees, Oak Hill is a great area for those looking for suburban lifestyle near a bustling city.

The mostly residential Oak Hill features modern shed-style houses in West Oak Hill, and more traditional shingle-style houses in East Oak Hill. These residential pockets are perfect for both joggers and cyclists, but areas around major highways are best traveled by car or public transportation.

Oak Hill has wide, winding boundaries that extend far into Barton Creek Wilderness Park. The park is located south of Zilker Park, in the 78735 area code. Thomas Springs Road acts as the neighborhood’s western boundary meets Southwest Parkway, which form part of the northern boundary. The rest of north Oak Hill covers half of the Barton Creek Wilderness Park. The neighborhood’s southeast boundaries lie just west of Sunset Valley, a few blocks past Mo-Pac/Loop 1.

Dozens of restaurants, hotels, and shopping centers lie within the neighborhood. A number of hotels, including La Quinta and Extended Stay America, are located in the neighborhood’s southeastern corner, giving travelers a place to stay near the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.

The Seton Southwest Medical Center is also located in the West Oak Hill area, near the neighborhood’s southwestern corner.
